Relaxing evening

So now we are going to sleep, we can hear the river outside our window. Just a little reading and maybe an episode of the vicar and then nothing but the sound of the rushing river. Good night to all, wish you could see what we have seen today.

No lions, no tigers, but oh my BEARS

This was so great to just come upon them down a dirt road. We kept our distance but they were magnificent.

Montana adventure

First day we spent the morning in Great Falls. We started at the Visitors Center which was great, they were very helpful and gave us directions and maps to what we wanted to see. Went to the "great falls", it was truly amazing to think of what Lewis & Clark accomplished given the challenges they faced. We then went to the Lewis & Clark Interprative Center this was very cool, kids would love this.
We headed on Highway 89 towards Glacier, beautiful scenery, reminded me somewhat of Texas I can see why they call Montana "Big Sky" country. Checked in to the lodge that was built in 1913. Very clean, comfortable rooms but it is a lodge, no TVs in the room. Headed out to explore and at Two Medicine lake after entering the Park Frank was able to "wet a line", you don't need a fishing license inside the Park, then on the way back we took a dirt road and saw two black bears. Beautiful, amazing day. Here are a few pics

Max's birthday

Max's 6th birthday...how can that be. Joshua had a great party for him and we were grateful to Peggy and Lyndon for allowing us the use of their house. Max couldn't decide between several themes so it was a mixture of a "BOLT" cake, Spiderman, and a few other things.

He wanted a bike so Grandpa Frank and Grandma Kathy couldn't let him down, now if it will just stop snowing so he can ride it. Great fun!

Catch up

Frank's first time on the WII Christmas Day at Suzanne's house. He has a great golf swing even on this game.

A princess tent for Emma, not quite the one I was looking for but the kids seemed to be having a good time with it.

Both my boys came up and spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with me, I guilted them in to it, I haven't lost my touch there. Was so great to finally surprise Colin with a camera for Christmas. They say women are hard to buy for, I disagree, men are the most difficult.

In mid December I brought 7 of the 8 grandkids up to spend the night. This is a picture of the younger ones playing in the toy room/extra bedroom. The older ones were either trying to beat me at Sequence, on the computer, or watching movies with me.

Perfect baby

Yes I love showing my grandkids off so I have to start right with Joslyn. She is a very pretty baby and very sweet.

Miss Joslyn

Suzanne is a very proud Mommy and you can tell that this new one isn't very popular, everyone is always wanting to hold her and I hope to spoil her with attention. Emma had a very long day with no nap but she was still sweet and is happy to have her sister home.

Grandbaby #8

A few pictures while we were waiting for Miss Joslyn to get here. We tried to make the time go faster by playing phase 10 with Suzanne

Shark trip

So as with every adventure you wait and wait and then it is over so quickly although Frank and I both agree the boat ride there and back took FOREVER. I did fine except the first day was throwing up, but stuck with the motion sick pills and the ginger tabletes. When I didn't feel good I just laid down. I finished a book and laid in the sun. It was pretty crazy to be able to see the sharks from the deck the water was so clear. So tonight back in San Diego all I can say is I couldn't drive, and I have had no alcohol, and we are just hanging out at the hotel and trying to get our land legs....Hey JoAnna and grandkids now I guess I know how the Little Mermaid felt.
Off to Oceanside in the morning to visit the graves of Frank's grandparents and hopefully have breakfast and get pastries and a great Mexican bakery near the Mission. Sea World in the afternoon and then a relaxing evening before heading home on Saturday. The weather is beautiful and it almost makes me want to live here, but I would miss things in Utah if I was here I'm sure.

Sunset

These have been just a few pictures from the shark dive...when the hotel room I'm in stops rocking back and forth I will post some more..But this was a beautiful sunset on our last day there as we were leaving.

Just hum the JAWS theme music while you watch this

Now this is what I call a sunrise

This was sunrise, and yes I got up at 0600 hrs to take these. It was so beautiful the colors are so amazing that a photo can never truly capture it.

SHARKS! BIG Sharks!

One of the other crazy people waving to Frank and turning his back on the shark, yes I know the guys are in a cage but still.... These sharks were between 14 and 15 feet long and weigh about 3,000 lbs.

Crazy

So I understand how some people can be fascinated but hey...there are sharks in the water and you are getting in a cage in the WATER...

And the next adventure...Frank's shark dive

So here are some pics at the beginning of the shark dive...well this is after at 20 hour boat ride....TWENTY hours on a boat and it wasn't Crystal cruises. But we made it and now it begins...
